ECMS researchers winners at the 2019 Smart Water Awards

Congratulations to our water researchers for winning the TRILITY Innovation in Large Organisations Award at the 2019 Smart Water Awards.

Goyder Institute and their certificates

Dr Kane Aldridge, Director and Professor Seth Westra receiving the 2019 TRILITY Innovation in Large Organisations Award for the Goyder Institute.

The Water Industry Alliance’s Smart Water Awards were held on Friday 7 June and recognises excellence in technology and expertise in the water industry.

The award recognised the Climate Resilience Analysis Framework and Tools (CRAFT) project, in which new tools were developed to help water planners and policymakers assess the impact of climate change on water resource systems and guide adaptation planning. Although initially designed for water resource managers, CRAFT can be used to test and improve the resilience of any system that is influenced by complex weather and climatic conditions.

CRAFT and its companion software foreSIGHT is freely available to enable easy access for as many users as possible, resulting in 2852 downloads in the first 11 months of its release.

Congratulations again to the Goyder Institute and ECMS researchers Dr Bree Bennett, Professor Seth Westra, Professor Holger Maier and Associate Professor Mark Thyer for their work on this project.
