About the presenter
Derek Grocke (Director/Founder of CyberOps) recently attended the NATO Locked Shields 2019 Partner games in Tallinn Estonia, as a member of the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) Blue team. The internationally recognised games provide participants with a unique, real-world, high-pressure attack simulation against numerous critical infrastructure, systems, business processes and users activities.
Leveraging the longstanding Cyber and Forensics relationship between TalTech and Dr Matthew Sorell (School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Adelaide) Derek was injected into the TalTech defensive blue team to understand the detail of the operation and determine what it would take to establish a full team for next year’s event.
Additionally, knowledge gained within the event has influenced the AustCyber Lab environment, which is being designed and deployed by CyberOps for the SA AustCyber node, located at the Joint Cyber Security Centre (JCSC), and future Cyber considerations for Lot14.
