Can safety be improved?

A common challenge facing the oil and gas industry is the plateauing of safety performance.

The industry’s main rate of improvement, lost time injury frequency (LTIF), has shown no significant improvement in the last five years. The aim of this project is to benchmark and recommend tools, training and processes to improve safety performance. A selection of nine life-saving rules, along with a training program and Critical Control Verification, were developed in order to address this impediment.
