How to apply the advanced camera

The objective for the project is to develop a method based on digital image correlation (DIC) technique in conjunction with standard experiments (for instance, bending and indirect tension) to determine the strength of brittle materials, and apply it to plain concrete.

A series of experiments are conducted on concrete specimens of different dimensions, with DIC technique applied to obtain full-field strains and their evolution during failure. Analysis of DIC-based strain helps obtain both strength and fracture properties. These the obtained properties are useful for computer simulation of structural failure and for practical purposes involving concrete fracture.
