Kinetics behind degradation of dyes

Our project is to investigate degradation of dyes in the presence of persulphate, carbon nanotubes and cerium oxide.

The majority of the dyes become decolourised with time during CNTs adsorption but not PDS. There are several different studies which show that using the combination of PDS and CNTs method, CNTs has ability to activate PDS which helps in oxidising dyes.

Additionally, CNTs are environmental friendly and have a heterogeneous structure. However, CNTs is way too expensive and the activate performance is not as much as expected. Therefore, studies have been escalated for cerium oxide  as it is relatively cheaper than CNTs and has a better activation ability.
