Let's get CONCritical

Global warming and resource sustainability are two of the biggest issues facing the modern world today.

The cement and concrete industries are significant contributors to these problems, creating 9% of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, cement manufacturers have developed numerous sustainable, or 'green', cement types which claim to create lower emissions compared to traditional concrete.

But do these 'green’ concretes really produce lower emissions over an entire life-span? Is their production more sustainable? Are they as efficient for structural uses, for example in buildings? To figure this all out, we created an emission calculator to find the greenhouse gas emissions that are created for any concrete mix design in the world.
