Migration routes of early humans

Modern humans currently inhabit all continents, even though many studies suggest that we originated in Africa.

One approach to studying the migration routes taken out of Africa is through the analysis of modern DNA.

By ‘re-running history’ through a simulation study, we attempted to find the most likely route taken through the South-East Asian islands by the first inhabitants of Australia. Due to data limitations and the similarity of migration routes, it has proven difficult to accurately select the most likely route.
