Your hardware store in space

The human race has conquered the world and now stretches the inquisitive arm of innovation to conquer the stars.

However, to do this people still need to eat and building materials are required. This project focuses on extracting phosphorous for use as a plant nutrient in space! 

The project aims to find an efficient space compatible method of phosphorous extraction, which will be achieved by using microfluidic reactors and plants grown hydroponically to perform extraction and purification. Plants are proving to be efficient purification machines that are self assembling, self repairing and self replicating.
