3MT – rise to the challenge
You have 3 minutes and 1 slide to make an impact with your research.
Do you have what it takes?
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is the greatest challenge our research students can participate in. Prove how you can distill your incredible research into 1 slide, and 3 minutes for a non-specialist audience, and you can go into the draw to win fabulous prizes.
In 2020, 3MT is going totally virtual: from ECMS finals, University of Adelaide finals all the way through to the Asia-Pacific finals in October. For the first time ever, instead of having to stand up in front of a large crowd, you can submit a video from the comfort of your own home.
How much easier is that?
Tuesday 2 June: Not quite convinced, and have a few questions? Tune into the information session to have all your questions answered.
Monday 15 June: Join Hugh Kearns as he covers how to make an awesome presentation, and how to deliver it clearly and confidently.
Friday 19 June: Applications due! This does not mean you need to have you video polished and prepared, just submit your intent to participate by this date.
Friday 17 July: Video and slide due. This gives you a full month from the application deadline to write, practice and film your masterpiece.
Want more proof? Check out the video below of our very own Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering PhD student Jessica Bohorquez who took home the prize from the Asia-Pacific Championships in 2019 - and a nice $5000 cheque.
