PhD opportunity for Chemical Engineers: Develop catalyst materials for future fuels by operando computation

This project aims to design catalyst materials for the production of future fuels (green ammonia, hydrocarbon and alcohol).

Facilitated by advanced computation techniques and reliable catalyst materials design procedure, this project will address the biggest challenge in future fuel generation, which is the lack of efficient catalyst materials.

Who can apply

The Scholarship is funded by an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship to support a full time PhD student who is undertaking research in using solar and wind sources to turn renewable energy sources to liquid fuels.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Have completed a relevant Bachelor degree with First Class Honours, or a Masters degree that contains a significant (and relevant) research component with equivalent academic performance.  Students who hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics, will be considered favourably.
  • Be interested in clean energy, Physical Chemistry, Programming and Computational Chemistry
