Professor Peng Shi - a Superstar of Research and Lifetime Achiever
Congratulations to Professor Peng Shi, from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, who has been recognised as one of Australia’s Superstars of Research – one of only 40 people chosen for the consistent excellence of their work and the impact they had in their fields.
The Australian’s annual Research magazine (released this year on November 10) acknowledges the talent and dedication of Australia’s researchers. In it they present The List – a roll call of the best researchers and the best research institutions in Australia in 250 individual fields of research.
Peng was included in the Lifetime Achievers List in the Engineering and Computer Sciences Category for his research on Automation & Control Theory.
He is one of the world's leading experts in autonomous systems, control, cyber-physical systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The list is compiled with the assistance of the League of Scholars who can comprehensively scan online data about Australia’s research input. You can read more about the list here.
With two of his academics recently recognised by The Australian, Professor Nelson Tansu, Head of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, is feeling incredibly proud and excited about the future.
He says his academics have impressive productivity and impacts, and the school is continuing to work hard to build a healthy, productive, conducive, and impactful culture to promote excellence and discovery.
“I am confident we will find more names from our School on the lists in the future,” Nelson said.
