3 ECMS alumni receive 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours

Congratulations to the three ECMS alumni who received the Queen's Birthday Honours this year.

The Queen's Birthday Honours recognise a group of outstanding Australians who have made a contribution to their community, to Australia globally or domestically. This year, 933 Australian's received this honour, including three graduates of ECMS.

Congratulations to:

  • Professor Garry Brown who received the Officer of the Order of Australia. Professor Brown graduated from a degree in Engineering (Mechanical)(Honours) in 1964 and received the honour for distinguished service to aerospace and mechanical engineering, to education and research, and as a mentor of young scientists.
     
  • Professor Neil Bryans who received the Member of the Order of Australia. Professor Bryans graduated from a degree in Engineering (Electrical)(Honours) in 1969 and received the honour for significant service to science and defence capability technology through radar and telecommunications research.
     
  • Mr Ian Orchard who received the Medal of the Order of Australia. Mr Orchard graduated from a degree in Engineering (Civil)(Honours) in 1966, and received the award for his services to his community.
