AusOcean summer internship applications now open
This 3 month paid engineering internship runs from December to February providing real-world, multidisciplinary learning experiences and counts towards fulfilling engineering degree requirements.
Previous interns have hailed from mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, computer systems engineering and computer science. Software skills are essential. Experience with the Go programming language is a plus, though not required.
AusOcean designs, build and deploys open source ocean technology, including networked sea surface platforms, known as “rigs”, as well as custom sensors (e.g. underwater cameras, hydrophones, environmental sensors, etc.). Data is transmitted straight to the “cloud”, where it is stored, analyzed and shared. Their goal is to transform the way in which ocean data is collected and communicated.
The program is based at AusOcean's facility in Willunga, South Australia, with several field trips planned. Scuba diving and a love for the ocean a plus!
