Off-Earth Construction

Our off-Earth construction research looks at the design, manufacture and building of the foundational infrastructure that underpins our activities in harsh environments such as the Moon and Mars.

This research includes the identification, collection and use of materials collected on site rather than those being transported from the Earth, a process known as In-Situ Resource Utilisation (ISRU).

This research also examines the technologies and processes required to make the essential construction components that will be used to build the roads, launch and landing pads and habitation structures required for long term operations.

Find out about our Off-Earth Construction projects and how we are addressing the challenges of long term space exploration and the sustainable development and manufacture of critical infrastructure.
